Getting Social
Who's on Facebook? What about Threads? TikTok? Who needs help getting there? Why do we care so much?
Many authors are terrible at social media. Following their accounts is like signing up for the Home Shopping Network in print, a few words at a time: buy my book, blah, blah, blah. It's obnoxious, and it doesn't work. It doesn't sell books.
Social media is... well... social. It's a place for making friends, learning about others, and lending a hand when possible.
Venting? Sometimes. Being political? It's a mistake some of us make from time to time. The point is that platforms like Threads are an especially good place to connect with people you don't know. And, if you harness the power of other Amelia Indie Authors? The reach for your message gets very big, very fast. Thousands more than any of us generates alone.
Go ahead and put your social handles in the comments. Follow each other. Ask your questions. It's time to learn how to mix and mingle online.
