Amelia Indie Authors is not only a virtual organization — we have been fortunate to gather in-person several times. The networking and connections have been wonderful for the #AmeliaIndies community.

We are thrilled to let you know that we have put together an amazing in-person training event February 16 – 17, 2023, from 10:00 – 4:00 each day. Click here to sign up.  (This will take you to PayPal which provides us with your name and email address which is all we need for registration. We will email detailed information the week of the event — or sooner if these two stop adding layers of awesome!)

Despite 6 trips to the bestseller lists — New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Publishers Weekly, USA Today— he’s the least famous denizen of the bestseller lists we know. But to learn more about writing books that sell, you need to know Tim Vandehey.

Tim is a journalist, columnist, and bestselling ghostwriter of more than 65 nonfiction books in genres such as business, finance, advice, outdoor adventure, religion, memoir, parenting, and health. His work has been featured in Fast Company, Inc., Forbes, and Entrepreneur, and his ghostwritten books have been published by major houses, including HarperCollins, Simon & Schuster, Hachette, Wiley & Sons, St. Martin’s Press, and The MIT Press.

Tim has been in the book business full-time for 18 years. He is about to release his first non-ghosted book: Swipe, The Science Behind Why We Don’t Finish What We Start, co-written with organizational psychologist, university professor, and employee engagement expert Tracy Maylett.

Your workshop with Tim will include a focus on craft:

Don’t You Want A Backstage Pass

And then there’s the behind-the-scenes look at the business of books: what happens once you have that beautifully written manuscript? Tim will answer your questions about how to work with an editor, find a publisher, and when to use an agent… and perhaps even how Swipe  will help you decide what to do with the “almost good enough” manuscripts living in your desk drawer.

To make sure you get the most from your experience, space for this workshop is extremely limited. Don’t miss out Go directly to PayPal.  Do not pass “GO.” Our registration process is modeled after the “keep it simple, sweetie” school of thought — once you pay for your ticket, PayPal provides us your name and email address. That’s all we need. We’ll send all attendees detailed information the week of the event.
